View Full Version : Ranger trail Coolhubs
I have a 2004 Ranger trailer and I need to change the oil in the hubs.
I have removed the star shaped faceplate that covers the lugnuts.
That leads me to the chrome plated round hub cover and I have no idea how to get this cover off.
What are the next steps? Thanks for any info, Ken.......
I may have found my answer with a google search. Ranger trail owners should hit this link and see if they need to change their lube. http://ufpnet.com/Portals/0/PDFs/Trailer%20Buddy%20GOLD%20Axle%20Maintenance.pdf Ken

Thanks for the post. That site is a must for anyone with the GOLD oil bath hubs. They are the same hubs that are on my Prestige trailer.
Thanks again.

You need to go to www.ufpnet.com (http://www.ufpnet.com) You have the gold series hub. Tells you everything you ever wanted to know about your hubs. Its an easy process but does take time to drain them and refill. Get an oiler from harware store to refill and bend the tip alittle. 50 weight valvoline racing oil is what it takes. You also need to use a jack so you can lower the axles to get them to drain completely. Make sure you fill them to the top with NO air pockets.
Bloodman, thanks for the link. I woulda never have found that! (lol) Ken..........
