I just installed a Lowrance LVR-880 Vhf radio and connected it to my NMEA 2000 network. The radio seems to work just fine but it isn't picking up the gps position through the network. I know the network is set up properly, my gps antenna is reporting the position into the network (the gps position displays on a few network devices) and the t-connector and extension cable connecting the radio to the network are functional (I have tested them with other devices), but the radio displays a "no gps information" message where it should display the gps position. I followed the trouble shooting guide and confirmed the baud rate is set at 4800 but could not find the parity setting which is supposed to be set to "NONE."

Has anyone installed a LVR-880 and got it to interface with a network? Any ideas?

Nevermind, the manual discusses how to configure the radio to NMEA 2000. That would have been a good starting point.

I am assuming that you have installed it and got it working, what do you think of the LVR-880?

I have one of these also. Still the only radio on the market with nmea 2000(I think). As a VHF radio it is excellent. Has more features than I have ever seen on a VHF at only around $179.
One of the few bargins I ever got on ebay. New in the box for $85.
Being using sense last summer.
