Volunteers Needed for FLW Outdoors Walleye Tour Fishing Tournament

Extra hands are needed to assist professional anglers when the FLW Outdoors Walleye Tour rolls into town April 15-18 in Port Clinton. Organizers of the tournament are seeking approximately 20 volunteers to fill several different shifts during the tournament.

The tournament hosted by the City of Port Clinton, Ottawa County Visitors Bureau and Port Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce will feature 300 anglers from 25 states and national television coverage on VERSUS. FLW Outdoors, named after Forrest L. Wood, the legendary founder of Ranger Boats, is the largest fishing tournament organization in the world.

Eight volunteers are needed to assist with the morning launching of boats on Wednesday through Friday, April 15-17, from 5:00 till 7 a.m. These volunteers will assist professionals with launching boats and with parking at the West Harbor Boat Launch. On Saturday, the field will be reduced to the 10 top participants, so volunteer help will not be needed at the boat launch.

Ten to twelve volunteers are needed for the afternoon events each day from 2:30 till approximately 5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday as well. These volunteers will be located at Waterworks Park in downtown Port Clinton to assist with weighing the days’ catches.

If you are interested in being a volunteer for the FLW Outdoors Walleye Tour, please call the Ottawa County Visitors Bureau at (419) 734-4386 or 1-800-441-1271.
