X27 & X37 networking. Help please

Got a 37 on the console with a 200khz transducer and a 3000 puck powered up from the 37 power lead. There is a 27 mounted and powered (head unit only) on the transom. Hooked up an ethernet cable direct from the 37 to the 27. I am receiving sonar data but no GPS data on the 27. The 27 display unit prompts "GPS module not responding". Any help is appreciated.

the ethernet cable does not carry the gps signal. Read in the manuals
about "nmea 2000" networking, the best way to use one gps antenna for two units, and nmea 0183, an alternative method.

VaGuy is right, for the gps you'll need to NMEA network the units (not the same as ethernet).
