Lowrance 112c vs HDS 10

Hi guys I was just wondering if the HDS 10 was worth the money to get it over the 112c in the sonar catagory not for GPS. Does the HDS sonar out do the 112c enought to get your money's worth?

After using the HDS-5, 7's, and 10 on the water, yes absolutely buy the HDS over the older technology. Big jump forward from what I've seen.

dont mean to butt in but when is this side imaging coming out??? i love lowrance but im looking to buy this year and im NOT waiting for side imaging when humminbird already has it ya know.

I read in another thread that Lowrance would release side imaging technology this fall. Given that Hummingbird has set the bar on side imaging I can't imagine that Lowrance would introduce theirs with anything but a higher quality than the competition has available. Might be worth the wait.

Lowrance says it will be out "later in 2009", nothing more specific than that right now. There's a rebate on HDS models and 1 option in the rebate program is to buy the Side Imaging piece before the end of the year (so I assume it will actually be available some time this year). This kinda sucks I was looking to buy one of the two next week cause i need one this year.
