I AM NOT REGISTERED, AND NEVER WILL BE. MY PREFERENCE. WHY???
JESSE-WI IS REGISTERED, AS MOST WOULD LIKE, AND LISTS ACCOMPLISHMENTS,EQUIPMENT, AND OFFERS ADVICE TO ANY WHO ASK. HE IS OUTCAST AS A BRAGGART, CHILDISH, ETC.. AND MANY AGREE.
SLIP-KNOT POSTS A POLL THAT INDICATES THAT THOSE THAT AREN'T REGISTERED ARE LITTLE MORE THAN A BUNCH OF TROUBLE-MAKERS WHO'S OPINIONS HARDLY COUNT MERELY BECAUSE THEY AREN'T REGISTERED. THOSE THAT ARE REGISTERED ARE MIRACULOUSLY TRANSPORTED TO THE WORLD OF BELIEVABILITY. AND MANY AGREE.
OLD JOE POSTS THAT HE IS TIRED OF HEARING THE SAME OLD CRAP OVER AND OVER AGAIN. I VISIT THIS SITE TO GAIN INFORMATION FROM ANY AND ALL WHO VISIT HERE, WHETHER THEY ARE REGISTERED OR NOT. EVERYONE'S OPINION IS VALUABLE, EVEN IF ONLY TO THEMSELVES. I JUST LIKE TO FISH AND READ ABOUT FISHING IN MY SPARE TIME. TAKE WHAT YOU NEED, AND LEAVE THE REST.
AND I REALLY DON'T GIVE TWO HOOTS IF DICK FROM GENETRON USES ALL CAPS OR NOT. SAVES WEAR AND TEAR ON THE SHIFT KEY.

I hope you never do have to register Joe. The unfortuate truth of the matter is that in todays legal and business internet environment, it is very hard for a site not to take the plung. The larger it gets the greater the problems. The vast majority of the sites I like, that deal with consumer products, were forced in to it by people who made claims without facts, kids having fun, or free riding spammers.
I commend Scott on his ability to keep this site free of all of it. On the other hand, the information that the site provides makes it important enough in the walleye fishing world that each of us will have to decide at some point what we are willing to do to ensure its long term survival. That may or may not lead to registered accounts someday. We can only hope it does not.
To those that I offended with the term "brag", I apolized. You will have to excuse my lack of political correctness and bad choice of words.
As I have mentioned, the use of the signature field to support your opinions on consumer products is a standard practice on forum boards, just as the use of caps being treated as shouting.

I wouldn't worry about it too much Old Joe. There was a poll done a couple weeks ago that was 2 to 1 in favor of not requiring registration. The people have spoken. After all, it is the people who make this site succeed along with a very wise management team. The amount of problems on this site are so minimal compared to other sites with forums that may or may not require registration that I think it really doesn't make the difference that they think it will make.

The ability to remain anonoymous has it's benefits and draw backs. It is the choice of the user, and last that I heard we still live in a country where we are allowd to make these choices. Post on brothers and sisters post on.... We are family, Come on sing along now...
