Looking into upgrading my depth finder. Any suggestions on a solid, good performing model/brand etc. For less than about $300? DOES NOT need to have a large screen or color.

I really like my Garmin 250C. Has been discontinued, but looks like some stores may still have available.

I sure like my Eagle 480. It's not color and not fancy but it works and is sub $ 200.00.

I would get a Eagle, 480. They should be bullet-proof...

I have been using my Lowrance x67c for 7 years now. I used it as my primary sonar for 4 years and then moved it to the bow. Still use it during the winter. Awesome unit, very versatile and just keeps going and going.

The Humminbird 141 C is a good color unit for the money, and falls in that range.

Raymarine DS600X on sale for $325 at bethel marine, larger screen, color, and a digital. It is an awesome fishfinder for the money, usually a 7-800 dollar fishfinder.

Tons of choices if you don't mind that it is monochrome. Eagle probably gives you the best bang for the buck.

Found a Eagle Fishmark 500C at Reeds Sporting. Paid about $200+ tax. I see that they have it marked as sold out, but might be worth a call/email to see if they have any.
Seems to be a nice unit.
