L88cox and I have checked with the web stores. Most of the web stores say they have them in stock but they don't know navionics quit making them until they contact them. Navionics said their software has changed and won't remake the chips. I think the only way to get a chip is find a store that has them ON HAND or find someone getting rid of theirs.

Is there a particular reason you have to have the 08 model? The 09 has the same data plus more 3D lakes that were added voer the past eyar and a half since it came out.

I personally spoke to 2 different people at Navionics that said it definitely would not work for the Region I need (KS, Region 9) due to the amount of data on the 2009 chip on a Lowrance 113 unit. Do you have a direct # I could call?

The reason the new 2009 Region 9 Platinum Chart will not work is because Regions 1, 9, and 14 are all loaded on 4 gig SD cards. All of the other 2009 Regions are on 2 gig SD Cards. Look on Navionics website at the compatable units for the 2009 Platinum card. You will see most of the Lowrance units have a (*) by them. Look at the footnotes and you will see the exclusion of Regions 1, 9, and 14. All of the Lowrance LCX, LMS, GlobalMap, etc (except for the new HD units) are only capable of handling 2 gig SD cards. The 2008 Platinum Regions 1, 9 and 14 WERE ON 2 gig SD card, thus compatible with the LCX, LMS, GlobalMap Lowrance units.
