I am going to replace the deck in my 1989 16' Lund rebel Special. The floor section that I will be installing is approximately 5'x10'. I cannot get oversized sheets of marine plywood locally so I am planning on using multple sheets of 4'x8'. My question is what is the best way of joining the sheets? My plan is to use a half lap joint over the stringers glued with Resorcinal or Gorilla glue and then Pop-rivet through the joint and stringer. Are there better ways of doing this job?
I have contacted Lund to see if pre-cut decks were available and was told that prior to 1990 they were hand cut for the specific job and that the patterns are no longer available.

The lap joint is a cool idea.

I think Pop-riveting through the joint and stringer is overkill and unnecessary. I'd say just screw into the sringer with quality stainless sheet metal screws.
