I know this off-topic a little and there are some really good websites for bowfishing. Was just wondering if any of you other guys out here on W.C. are into it? Am just starting into the whole archery thing all together and thought I might combine two enjoyable past times as I often spring walleye fish and see the carp/roughfish spawning about the same time. Just one more thing to carry down the bank with a walleye rod in one hand and bowfishing equipment in the other. Just seeing what others thought and tips/tricks to make it enjoyable.

Thanks. Blaze.

It's been awhile since I have gone bowfishing but I seem to remember that in Wisconsin you couldn't have game fish in your possession while you are bowfishing. The rod and bow at the same time could cost you a fine and loss of fishing and hunting privlages. Check your local regulations!

I got into it 2 summers ago and absolutly love it. Bow mount foot control trolling motor, decent arrow retrieval sysytem (reels are nice), and a cooler... hot summer days with nothing better to do makes this sport a must. It might screw up your sights if you move them to compensate for the difference in arrow weight. This gives you an opportunity to resight in the fall and get more practice though, so not a bad trade off. Give it a try. You can get reel retrieval systems for pretty cheap ($30-50).
