Need help

I have a 2007 Yamaha 150 HP 4 Stroke on a 2007 Ranger Reatta 1850. This is my third season with the boat/motor. Took it out of storage this year and I've found that my trim guage is not reading correctly. When the motor is fully trimmed down, the guage reads at the 1/4 level. In the previous two seasons, the guage worked correctly. Any hints on how to get it back to normal? Thanks.

Trim the motor all the way up and look underneath for the sending unit. It should be a black plastic ring around the motor support. You will need to loosen one screw and manually twist the unit to change the reading based on the direction it is reading incorrectly. Retighten and your all set.

There is a plastic cam on the steering tube behind the hydraulic steering rams. You can see it better with the motor tilted up. You can loosen it up with a philips screwdriver and adjust it on the switch. It may be broken as mony of them did so you may have to replace it. The new ones are metal.
