Hi All,
Upgraded my 07 chip to a 09 and my LCX 38C HD wont recognize the chip no matter what I do...Sold the 07 already. The chip works fine in my LMS 520c up front. Does anybody have any suggestions? The unit has version 2.4.0 on it now and ive tried both slots on the unit as well.

Thanks

Did you select the Navionics Map choice in the Map Data Menu?

Hi Jim,
Yep and went through the checklists making sure the popup and other options etc are checked as well...was thinking of my next steps since i posted...possibly slap in any old card to see if slots are working and/or do a soft reset after that...

JCL,
That's what I'd do. I would check thechart out in a Lowrance AND a H-Bird. Go to your local store and check it intheir machines. Then get back with Jim or myself. Don't do a soft reset yet. We'll get ya taken care of.

So i went out to the boat tonight and took a empty sd card to verify it would read that at a minmum. When I put that in it starting recognizing both cards. i was shocked to say the least. Then I took out the empty sd card and lost the recognition of the navionics card within minutes. So here are the settings I think you requested:
earth map detail = medium
x popup map information
trackline ext= off
x show distance
x show time
map over
not check lat/long
not check range rings
mapdataset (when it recognized navionics card)
nav card mmc/sd
not check fill water
x draw map boundaries
map=Ohio
international mode
5 meters

Hi LC,
Any thoughts on my setting or why it finds the card when i put a blank in the other slot?

Make sure the card slot is clean and dry. Try pushing on the closed door when the chip is installed.

Still no luck...talked to my lund dealer but they never had that problem come up. Card will only work when i have another card in the other slot. If I pull out the other card I lose the premium 09 as well...any other suggestions?

For giggles try this, I winder inf hte chip is marginaly thinner than others. Take a small peice of paper or even the corners of a business card, and slide it on top of the chip, but underneath the part it connection that the chip slide into (if that makejs sense). I had a chip that was thin, and I had to do that. Maybe with a chip in the other slot pushe up on the one conenction whcih in turn pushes donw on the other connection.

I also did that with a MMC card I had, which is why I said to try and push on the door with the card installed. Mine would read the card then, but the "fix" was to do what you suggest- shim it.
