i was running my 24v 48lb thust trolling motor on 2 when a friend called me to pick him up at the dock so i cranked it up to 8 to get out of the area without starting the big motor. the motor was bouncing like the power was turning on and off. then it went dead. checked all the wires and fuses and they all look fine. what happened, and is it fixable. thanks js
Hard to tell but you might look at the foot control and connections to the foot control. It may been going on and off due to the switch or connection.
Would be good to get the volt meter out and check your power at the connector to the motor. If there is 12V there and a good ground you would need to look at the motor it's self. It could be in the wiring inside the motor or the armiture or brushes. The brushes can be replaced.
