Does anyone know where I might find a Boundry Landing rod case. I won one several years back as an amateur in a PWT event and would like another one for a fly in trip to Canada. Or if anyone knows of a good protective padded case I would appreciate hearing about it.

I don't use a store purchased case for this. I bought a 4 inch diameter PVC sewer pipe, cut it off at the length you need for your rods and Duct taped the terminal end caps on. I pad my rods with water pipe insulation that fits perfectly. Then just slide the padded rods into the pipe and duct tape the last end closed.

It may not look pretty like the store purchased ones, but mine is indestructable and only 9 dollars of material.

Good Luck!

I 2nd the comment on the 4" pvc pipe for a rod case.

I use a couple of different length pipes. I generally pick up a 10 foot section, then cut to the longest rod that I am going to use on the trip plus about 2 inches. This allows for the installation of foam in both tips.
I buy a quart of acetone from the home supply store - great cleaner - and you can always use it somewhere. Its fumes are very potent - so only use in a well ventilated area - no sparks please.

Then use a paper towel and the acetone - and you can remove all of the marks, writing, labels etc. that are typically on the pipe. May as well make it white.

Then I have a couple of 4 inch pvc caps. I glue one cap on with pvc glue. Then, I use clear package sealing tape - to build up the diamater of the 4" pipe just enough so that the cap is a tight fit. Then, if insecure, I use a piece of the package sealing tape - to secure the cap - if it is going to be in "storage" like in an airplane.

As the other post suggests - a bit of foam, protects the rods, and keeps them from rattling around in the pipe.

If you want to get fancy - you can even use some of the package sealing tape to make a handle. stick a few lengths of the tape back to back, then tape the ends of the tape to about the center of the pipe and you have a collapsabile handle on your "new rod case".
Total cost - less than $10.

Take care

Cabela's carry them. They are great for fly-ins & will hold up to six rods.

Better than the tape-on cap, you can put in a threaded cap and plug. If it restricts the diameter too much, get an adapter up to the next size, then the threaded plug.
