Whatever happened to Ron Gazvoda?

He was a hot stick, cashing checks, and even winning an event. He was always one to watch.

I know at least one of the above listed hit some finacial trouble and is out of fishing for now. Could be that it happened to more than one - it's an expensive game!

Ron's absence was mentioned a couple years ago at the PWT events. If I remember correctly someone in his family was ill. True or not, I miss seeing him walk across the stage and I wish him the best.

That is correct. Ron had some family illness and quit for that reason.

Hi All,

I will be fishing some of the events later in the year. Right before the Lake Erie FLW event my wife and I had a little baby boy (David Kenneth). He was 23 in'' long and weighed 9lbs 9 oz. He is almost 3 weeks old now and everything is going great. Thanks to all the people that called, e-mailed, or sent cards.

See you on the water,
Nate Provost

The one I miss is the wildman of walleye fishing Jim Klick. Never a dull moment around that guy. Also congrats Nate. Another Saginaw Bay slayer comin up.

Jim Klick was a lot of fun to fish with for sure. I drew him as an amatuer in the PWT two times. Love the American flag shirts he wore. Leon Houle hasn't fished in the national tournaments for awhile, but he was a class guy and great fisherman too.

Shared emails with Ron this winter and he is still retired and helping out family. He only fished one day last year.
