Have a 1991 Ford Explorer...just had a new transmission put in it. Everything appears to be fine except that there is a slight "chattering" type feeling when the engine is at low speeds either accelerating or decellerating. Any ideas on what could be causing this? Other than this one condition, the transmission feels and sounds very good.
Any input would be helpful.
Thanks

I had a similar experience with a Jeep, thought it was a tranny problem. Checking things a little further and it was the thermostat clutch on the fan. The bad bearings were making the noise and it also put the vibration into the drive train. Just a thought!

I have had good experience with using friction modifiers from this company. Talk to some transmission specialists in your area and I am sure they will agree. Many different auto transmissions experience "chatter" and adding the right stuff can sometimes make a complete "fix".
Good Luck
