Some questions re the new Lowrance HDS units

I recently purchased a Lowrance HDS-7 unit. I've been spending time reading the Operations Guide and working with the unit in simulator mode. However, I have a few observations/questions for anyone who can provide a response. I have already realized that the Operations Guide doesn't accurately reflect the unit I have (e.g. Guide menus have different sub topics than actual unit).

The Guide states that the unit, when turned on, will start up in simulator mode if not connected to a transducer. That has not been the case for me. Simulator mode works fine but I have to turn simulator mode on.

Would anyone else using these HDS units like to see Universal Transverse Mercator as one of the options to select as the coordinate system?

I somehow deleted the cursor on the display – how do I get the cursor back?

The Guide states that selecting No Split from the View Menu (in the sonar menu) displays a full sonar screen. This doesn’t happen for me when I have two combo screens up (e.g. a chart screen and a sonar screen).

Whenever I am running a combo screen (e.g. a chart screen and a sonar screen), what steps are required to get back to a full sonar only screen (e.g. how do I delete the chart screen)?

I don't own one yet, but have played with them at the store enough. Go to pages, then select the top listing for example, if you want just sonar, select sonar.Then by pressing up on the directional pad till you get to the top of the list if it isn't already there do not select on the sub menu options, that will give you two of the same thing.
