I bought an X27 last fall, had the unit(s) put on just before a huge snow storm hit and put the boat away into storage for the winter. This winter I realize I forgot to transfer all my waypoints from my X15 to my X27. My X15 is stripped out of my boat with all the wires/transducers sitting in my boat. I have two X27's, one in the bow and one in the back (I have a tiller), both hooked up with the ethernet system. How do I go about transferring my waypoints from the X15 to the X27 sytem? Am I out of luck on this one? I don't think the connectors are the same "color". Haven't been able to crawl in the boat to check, but I'm pretty sure the cables/connectors are not the same color. Any and all advice is welcome. Thanks!

The only way I know to transfer waypoints is with s/d cards, assuming you have that on the x15. If you hookup your older unit to a 12 volt battery, turn the unit on and export your data to the card. Then take the card and import it to your new unit. But from my experience, I have not found a way to copy files from unit to unit using the network.

So I just need to hook up my X15 to a battery and transfer the waypoints to a card, then put the card into the X27 and do the same? That's it? Thanks.

Yes, you will need to go under "transfer my data" and save the data and then load the data using "transfer my data" on your X27.

Stupid question here, but I've been known to ask them...I don't need to have my GPS antenna hooked up for this process, right?

You do not have to have your antenna hooked up for this process.

Even though the 27 has "blue" connectors and the 15 has "grey" connectors it will still work to power up your 15. The pin layout for power is no different if my memory serves me correct. Just hook your 15 up to your blue connector power cable the insert a blank SD card and go to "system setup" then go to "transfer data" the go to "save" and it will tell you when saved(just takes a couple seconds). Then switch the power back to your 27 and take the chip from the 15 and install in the 27 and go to same menu options as above only instead of "save" use the "load" function and it will load that data onto your 27..Thats it, you've just installed your waypoints on your new machine..
