Hitch help please

[HITCH HELP]

My buddy is picking up a new 16-foot Lund. The trailer is standard with a 2-inch ball hitch.

His towing vehicle is a 4x2 Tacoma. What Class hitch does he need to have installed?

Although a class 2, 3500# hitch would probably do the job, I prefer the class 3, 5000# 2" square models. There is a broader selection of drop/rise inserts available, and if he ever want to use a bike rack or some other attachment, the 2" model would do a better job.
