The post from Lund Boy got me curious about how many WC users are female? I know of a few but I am a curious to see how many and how old you all are? Let's keep growing this wonderful sport! Good fishing and don't forget to shoot the puck. Mike Peluso # 82

Mike,

Looks like you may have appointed yourself the head of the WC Dating Service. You could be in trouble, young, atheletic, pro hockey player, pro fisherman and of course, owns a Ranger. What a catch. I think I'll have my sister give ya a call.:)

Any way, good luck for the rest of Hockey season ans we will see ya out there soon enough.

:) Interesting, I am sure I will catch some slack for this but I am seriously interested to see how many Women are getting involved in fishing. I think it is cool to see a female take an interest in this sport. Ma Walleye, I would have never guessed your age, I would have thought 30 or less ;). Anyway, I don't own a Ranger anymore ;( I am fishing out of a Triton 205 and a Lund 1900! Johnnie, my message board on my website www.mikepeluso.com has turned into a dating service. I have to laugh when I read some of the posts! Good fishing and don't forget to shoot the puck. Mike Peluso # 82

Interesting (FYI)

The fastest growing demographic in the outdoor sporting world is the female angler demographic. They now rank very high in the hunting demographic numbers as well.

There are many female sportsperson communities popping up on the web with serious usage by sporting contributors. I know of a few on line communities that are serious hard-core hunting enthusiast, as well as fishing enthusiast.

It is very good to see new growth and interest for the sport of fishing and hunting. The long-range benefits will be great for the family sport we all appreciate so much.

Hey Mike, with all those "attributes" you may find a couple of the guys on this site that would be willing to marry you. Or at least date you for a couple of weekends out of the year.

Hi

I'm here and have been for a few years. Last year fished the WWA and USFA trails MN division. This year will be fishing the MTT and some of the WWA and I'm fishing, as an amateur, the PWT at Leech Lake. Oh, and the Mercury Walleye Classic.

Eddy,

Unfortunately, only 5% of the hunting licenses sold in Wisconsin are sold to women. That is a DNR-published fact, although it is about 3 years old.

And, from watching my fellow hunters, I suspect the license their wives "purchase" is really a 2nd license for the hubby. Which decreases the legitimate female hunting license percentage even further.

On the bright side, my DNR contacts tell me more women are going through the hunter safety courses the last 2 years or so. Still, it is not enough.

I try to get my wife to fish all the time. I usually fail but she'll humor me 2 or 3 times per summer. However, she does love to relax on the boat so she'll read and soak in the sun any time. That is better than nothing.

We were on Rainy Lake Last year and she was reading while I fished a deep reef. I started picking up some smaller eyes and she seemed to be genuinely excited for me. I asked her if she wanted me to rig up a rod/reel for her. Nothing doing, back to the book. Finally, nature was calling me so I asked her if she could watch my line while I took a pee. While this was going on, an 'eye hit and she actually did a decent job bringing it in. I netted it for her and she had a grin from ear to ear. I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to repeat my offer to get a rig ready for her. As I asked, her head dropped straight to her book and she said 'no' all in one motion.

That moment taught me I'm going to have to settle for a reading partner instead of a fishing partner no matter how hard I try. I'm just thankful she likes to be on the water.

I am one of those very luck guys. I have a wife that loves to fish and actually asks me why I haven't been fishing lately when I don't go for a few days
She keeps right up with me putting out boards, she ties spinner rigs for me before tournaments does not like to go in if she has not caught a lest a few fish, no matter how cold she is.
This year I am going to teach her how to run the boat, Ranger 619, and all the electronicsand trolling motor so she can take it out on her own.
I would love to sit at a ramp and watch all the faces as a good looking blond pulls up with the Ranger, unloads it by herself and takes off into the lake.

Oh yeah, she got a couple of ten's last year but wasn't quite satisfied. She wants something over twelve, but don't we all.

So, if you are around Madison, WI and see a blond lady flying acroos the lake in a green Ranger, that is my wife Julie. Follow her she will put you on fish.

I too think it is great that more women are getting involved. I fished with Juls for a year and it is great to see things working out so well for her. Now is the time ladies. You have a great opportunity to pick up sponsors and make a name for yourself in the walleye fishing world.

Good luck,
Scott

Hey Scott,
It won't be long and you two will have the "Husband and Wife Team of the Year Award"!! I knew she would get hooked on this, the same way I did! lol

If she's looking for that 12'ver, just bring her on down to my new stomping grounds. Now that I have an actual address down there, you two are always welcome to stay there! Anytime...;-)

I took my wife to Saskatchewan White Tail Hunting and she killed a 143 class buck, I got skunked.

I took her to the Saginaw River a year ago, Spring Walleye Fishing and she lands a 12 lber. I lost a Rod and Reel.

I took her SteelHead Fishing last weekend and she caught the Steel Head, I became "Net boy"!

Maybe I should learn to darn socks :)

Seriously, It is a blessing and a joy to be able to experience the sheer Fullfillment of watching someone Light up, when they do something like that for the first time. I wouldn't give it up for Nothing....

Hey Peluso!

Don't get fooled by all these fuzzy stories about fishing and hunting wives....lol....the odds are 50/50...at best.

My 'favorite ex-wife', fished 7 days a week, duck hunted with Curt Gowdy on the American Sportsman show and live in a deerstand every fall.
When my attorney and I were putting together a settlement plan, he asked, "how often did you have sex with your wife? Times per week...per month? ...how often?" I thought he was just kiidin' around. But he held his straight face and asked "how many?!" So I think...and say " three times a week if you average it out over the ten years we were married." He gets the calculator goin'.... looks up and says, "maaaaaan, you shoulda hired a full time hooker! At that rate, after all of this is said and done, it'll cost you $600 per 'piece'. The hooker would have saved you 65%." lol lol

Shoot the puck straight, Mike! lol

When it comes to luck, well, it can take a few years. I was married to my first wife for 22 years. She divorced me and I met a lady that I took to Florida for a week. My boss owned some property and there was some fishing gear in the garage. So we went. First time for me in 15 yrs. We got married and have been fishing ever since. We actually live for it. We have recently purchased some land and a dock up at Erie and have a nice 22' walk around.

By the way, she is the one with the fish on the wall. She goes with me and we fish from sun up to sun down. You never know how lucky you are until your married partner enjoys all the same things in life that you do. We have been married now for 5 yrs. and the partnership thing is fantastic.

Mike, good luck in all of your endeavors.

Ed

Hey guys, here's a pic of one of the fastest learning Erie trollers I know and a great tourney partner! 4 years ago I couldn't get her in the boat when it was less than 70 degrees out. Now she's a cold weather rough water eye addict just like the rest of us! She says she's intimidated by the guys on this board and didn't want to respond to this thread but she checks the site out often.

Gee Marc, why would she feel intimidated when she's catching hogs like that? Isn't Lake Erie great? My wife doesn't respond here much either. She's down at Spring Valley right now getting ready for the MWC tourney this weekend. I talked to her this morning and it's cold enough to freeze the gonads off a brass monkey. She loves to fish and is competitive as can be. My hat is off to all the ladies who like this sport. The more the merrier.
