What length and what line(fireline or mono)are you using for your leaders? Also what knot are you using to connect the leader to the lead core or are you using a barrel swivel? Thanks

If I am using segmented leadcore{3 colors of lead} then I will use a 50 foot mono leader of #10 test. On a full reel of lead core{10 colors} I use about a 10 foot fire line leader. The knot that I use for connecting mono/fire to the lead core is one where I tie an over hand knot on the end of the lead and then tie a polamar knot up above on the lead and then slide it down onto the knot. Hard to imagine but it works real well. Saw this knot on one of the P&K trolling video's.

We have been using nail knots , 90 + ft leaders of 10 lb mono , and 8.6 ft med / lite action rods , to have fun trolling .
Reel in the 2-3 color sections and now you are on mono !

The leader I usually use is 35 feet. The knot you will not beleive. Strip out about 3-4 inches of leadcore out of the braids. Tie a loss overhand knot in the lead. Insert your leader where the lead was stripped out. Once you have enough of the leader in side the braided line, slide the loss overhand knot over where the two lines are togather. Tighten the knot and its done. This always holds. I use it for salmon fishing and have yet to have it let loss. Good Luck, Doug
