I am planning on purchasing a couple of planer boards and would like opinions on which brand of inline planer boards that you prefer to use? I also run lead core will either of these brands work with the core?
I am looking at the Churchs or Offshore

Thanks for everyones input

They are both good boards. I prefer offshore.

I have both. Both work fine. I find myself using the Church boards first because the clips work with super lines.

Fan of the Offshore w/ tattle flags here. With super wrap around 2x to prevent slipping, mono is no issue. The local stores around here also carry more Offshore accessories and replacement parts, so it was a no-brainer for me.

I myself like the offshore

Here's a link to the cheapest that I've seen them go for

I would buy two offshore port/starboard and two churches starboard/port.. Got this helpful tip in a seminar. Not original. The two churches pull harder so put them inside. The offshores can be pulled across the churches without tangling. Also change the Offshores to the O.R. 18 clips and double wrap.

That's a great site and price. I switched over from church's to offshore this spring. The price on boards has gotten outrageous. Cabelas had them at $31.99 walmart had them at $39.99. As Michigan just added an extra rod this year (3 per angler) I'll be ordering 2 more from North woods outlet on Monday.

if you have any other questions feel free to PM me. I have been using inlines for probably 20 years, when I first used them people used to point at them dlaugh, they thought they were some kind of toy or gimmick. Everyone used big boards and a mast back then.

boy were they wrong..

Cabela's isn't really that bad of a deal if you're buying a port and starboard with flags:

Mike,
The board are 19.99 a piece at Northwoods and the tattle tail flag kits are 14.99
Add up a left & right board with 2 flag kits it comes to 69.96

So that's 24.00 dollars cheaper then Cabelas?

The boards come with the flags and you can make the tattle kit with stuff from the hardware store for about 3.25 per board. I've done it with all my boards. The tattle flag system is a must!
