Just an FYI- for those of you who have purchased a new Lowrance HDS unit or are considering one, the software update for the HDS units will be available May 15th online according to company sources.
This update will enable the use of Navionics plug-in mapping charts and other software enhancements.

Yes, the official release is scheduled for May 15th, according to company sources I spoke with.

The Sirius Weather antenna should be shipping any day now. I had a chance to mess around with an HDS-10 and the Sirius module, it's one of the coolest pieces of technology I've seen in a long time. A lot of people will be buying this when they get a chance to see it in operation. Doppler radar in your boat with a real time lightning tracker, it's just amazing when you see it.

Will the Lowrance support teams/Rep's get the update out to retailers in the field as early as possible so we can use/demo the full functions of the New HD display units?
That would be kinda nice.

Any news on the final end cost for either the Sirius Module or the side scan transducers?

MAP pricing for the Sirius module is $350. I have not heard final pricing on the Structure Scan transducer package, speculation is <$500?
I did get a chance to look at some more Structure Scan images that have not been released to anyone, from what I've seen I'd say that those who are interested in this technology from Lowrance are going to be pretty amped when they see it.

Well - today is the long awaited day for Lowrance to have their software update out for their HDS units so that we can use the navionics chip. Just went to the website and no can do. I heard they are on track for the release but not seeing it today makes we wonder!?!?!

I am anxiously awaiting this as well. I purchased an HDS 10 last week which is a great unit but it's only 50% awesome until my Navionics maps work.
I will probably check Lowrance's update section on the website 200 times today.

As a consumer, folks think that 5/15 means at the open of business on 5/15.
As a developer of the software, they may think that 5/15 means by 11:59pm on 5/15.
I don't own a HDS unit (I have all Lowrance on my boat though), but I know if I did I would be EXTREMELY frustrated with this process.
Good luck!

Looks like the updates for the HDS versions are out there now. Good news (hopefully) for the HDS owners!

Is their any concern about buying the Sirius wx module and the company goes under. Sirius/xm is not in good financial shape.
