How do you tune a reefrunner? I visited their homepage and the information said to just slightly bend the eyelet left or right depending on which way the lure is tracking. Is that all their is to it? I am using crosslocks. Is this preferred?

Should be it. You want the lure to run straight and true. If the crank is running to the left, bend eyelit to the right. If it running to the right, bend eyelit to the left. Tune all your cranks with eyelit in this manner. I just use a regular crankbait snap without swivel. A swivel can affect the way a crank runs. Hope this helps.

Sorta like feeding a tiger... very carefully. The bigger the bill on any crankbait, the more any tuning affects the bait. Go very little at a time to find that sweet spot where they track straight. I have had some reef runners that I just could not tune.

Good luck,

there was a tuner made and sold on this site

however I just tried the site and it may no longer exist.

I could be mistaken but I think Reefrunner is coming out with a tuner too.

Good portion of this is ETT's advice though he'd likely explain it better: Snap facing up. At least 7 ft of line out. Extremely slight adjustments as previously mentioned. Reefrunners have a search (swing out wide periodically) similiar to hot & tots and you want this quality.

Here's a message from a simular post a while back, that goes into some detail about tuning Reef Runners. They can be tricky but the "horizonal hunting action" is a big part of what makes them so very effective.

Scott has developed a lure tuner of his own, which is available now. Call him at 1 419 798 9125, and he or Rose will give you the details.

Hope this helps. Good luck & COME ON SPRING

You can tune a crankbait but you can't tune a fish!lol
