Guys does a 08 175 merc pro xs have a lifting eye built into the motor for raising the motor, or will i have to obtain a special tool to lift it?

Do a search on raising the motor. The clever money is on raising the front of the trailer, to drop the back of the boat and using the ground to support the engine while you lower the transom.

Buy the lifting eye. Motor costs to much to drop it on the ground. Wiredog
