Hi -

We went up to Red Lake last weekend and I was wondering if any one from WC was up there? Went out of Hudec's but could only go 5 miles before you hit the pressure ridge and they had pulled the bridge that day(Sat-16th). We had a house on wheels so didn't attempt to get across. We brought home 12 nice crappies - nothing smaller than 12" - but were hoping for more. Left the house at Hudec's and will be going back this weekend. I heard that West Winds still has a bridge out and you can cross there. Anyone know? I checked the Red Lake Forum already but wanted to hear from someone here.

Oh -- we caught LOTS of perch (small) and 11 walleyes!!!

Thanks for any information.

Fished Red Lake on 3-12 and 3-13, caught most of our fish from 7-10 pm. this was our first trip there and it was fantastic! My partner and I landed over 80 fish, most of them in the pound and a quarter range. Nothing over two pounds though. From 7:30 to 8:30 the action was too fast to use two rods. At dark I landed a 27.5 inch walleye (released of course)! I will go back! We used extremely small minnows, and a glow in the dark jig. We fished out of West Wind and they still had the bridge up on Wednesday. When we left, they were working on it, so who knows for sure. I would give them a call. If you have anymore questions, feel free to shoot me an email at mack1821@hotmail.com

I have GPS cordinates if you want them.
