I used sudden hooks drifting with half a nightcrawler. I am haveing trouble with it wrapping up line around the hook. It twist the line up useing about 4 ft leader. Using a bottom bouncer.
Make sure the worm is up on the line about a half inch to an inch and use a GOOD swivel. Even if the bottom bouncer has a swivel on it you might want to double up. The hook is designed to spin the bait and without a good swivel you will have a lot of line twist.

Probably they die on you too quickly. Try slow death hooks.

Dual swivels is what I ended up with, I run a Ball Bearing Swivel on the line and use a Ball Bearing Swivel with Split Ring and Lock Snap on the Snell I make for the hook.
Something like these.
On the Snell.

And these on the line

Sampo says the ball bearing swivels are better than the barrel ones, they seem to work better for me also.
I also hook a swivel onto the line, then a section of line attached to jigs and such, helps keep line twist down.

Edit...ooops, sorry I had the swivels reversed here, the swivel with the locking snap goes on the main line..probably doesn't make much different :)

Another thought is you might be using too light a line--I've found that 10 or 12 # Sensation is stiff enough to keep from having the problems you are experiencing.
