To Mark Dorn, or RCL:

I was at the Walleye's for Tommorrow banquet, last week, and Kendall Kampke( fish biologist) told me, the RCL might have a problem on inland lakes. This was due to the fact, the laws state, there can not be a tournament for more than 3 consectuative days on inland waters. He said, that the RCL in Green Bay, was no problem, because there was no such rule governing the Great Lakes. This rule only applies to Wisconsin Inland waters. I am not try to start a controvery, just would like to get this message to the right people in time, so they can clear this up. I support the RCL 100%, competition between circuts, only make things Grow! If someone knows how to reach them, please pass this on.

Thank you,
Gary Gray

Hey Gary; Give a call to Mark Dorn or Sonny Reynolds 270-362-5259 or 270-362-4880. I'm sure the RCL would appreciate the info.

Just Wondering?

Gary,

If there is a problem or law stating that no tournament can last for more than 3 days in inland waters then why did the state or DNR give them a permit to hold the tournament for 4 days? Isn't it the Department of Natural Resources that issues the permit to hold a tournament?

Just my thoughts, but with only 20 guys on day 3 and 10 boats on day 4 this is not what is normally thought of as a tournament. Maybe the WI DNR in their great wisdom could see and understand the economic impact and the small fishing prressure impact of the RCL format.
I hope we don't have any problems, this organization is doing everything it can to step us up and they will look at Great Lake only sites if the inland guys make this a big battle everytime.
Just my thoughts.

I talked to Sonny Reynolds this morning, he was going to get in touch with the DNR. It is also stated in those same rules, that you do not need a permit for less than 20 boats. Therefore, the 4th day is only a handfull of boats, and the current law will not effect this tournament. Sonny and I talked about it, and feel confident, there will not be any problems. Don't anyone panick, this thread was not posted to get anyone excited, just to get Mark, or Sonny's #. I did get the #, and Sonny is aware, and it is all water over the dam. This topic came up at the Walleyes for Tommorrow banquet, and I just wanted to kill it before it got started. I believe in the RCL, and the PWT, together, they will expand the world of Walleye Tournaments.

Isn't there also a maximum payout if you do not have a permit?
