Can't speak about how much better they are over older AP but I have had mine 20 months and it's been rock solid since day one, not one problem since I purchased my new boat. I have had people fishing on my rig that have had older AP and they said the Terrova is way better as far as speed of correction and holding position in calm and big water and responsiveness, they said must be due to it being digital.

The only issues I have had are with the foot pedal. I have had two go bad on me...in fact they were never right. Very erratic steering it to the right with the rocker, sometimes I would literally have to stopm on it to get it to respond. Very frustrating.

In all fairness though, still not sure what the problems were (Minn Kota replaced them at no charge). It is possible that it was/is related to the recessed foot pedal tray on the Triton 215X. The foot pedal fits, but it is just a hair off from being flush. I suspect this may have caused some unoticeable flex in the pedal that could have affected the magnetically controlled activation for the steer.

It sits on my deck now and the thgird one is better. I will never get used to the electronic foot pedal though...much more control ovetr the old cable style where there is "feel" involved.

Just got a new one (101 36 volt 60"), installed the co-pilot and been out twice and all is AOK so far. I really like the ease of stowing and deploying compared to my 74PD. I like the auto pilot on-off button and rabbit feature on the remote.......Paul

I am impressed with the foot pedal, much easier to operate with the foot over the previous model I had. Mine has a compass problem though after 5 times out. It started yesterday going haywire turning in different directions in calm conditions. Under rough conditions it acts the same way though I expected this as was common with previous models. I have an AP 80 Terrova. I hate to send it back and miss fishing time so I live with it for a while.

Send it back. Last time I did on the Powerdrive they had about a 1 week turn around...Paul

Just an idea but if there are any pro tournies in your area their factory reps may be there and might(???) fix you on the spot. Just bring all your purchase paperwork with you

Thanks. I appreciate it. If I have a couple of weeks where I don't plan to use it. I'll send it back.
