I am getting a new trailer. I am looking for opinions on these two ways of greasing bearings.

I have had Liqua-Lube on my 3 rangers and I would never go back to grease. I had a seal let go and drove the trailer for 3 days in and out of the ramps while prefishing. It happened on friday of a holiday and of course no one could get parts until Tuesday. Called Ranger and they said to go ahead and drive it empty of oil. I did and on tuesday the mechanic replaced the bearings and the seal. He said there was nothing wrong with the bearings, but he changed them to be safe. I think they are the best system going.

No doubt about that with me either!! Best system going!!

How did the seal blow out? I have done some pretty harsh stuff with mine and not a wimper from the hubs/bearings.

Dee Ann at Liqua-Lube is your trailors best friend. 920-648-5188.
I've run'em for 9 seasons. Like Mr. Chairman said....this oil is so good, a film of it left, is all you need. I've never had problems.

Thats some interesting information about running them while virtually dry. My biggest fear about the liquid hub systems was the fear of an unexpected loss of fluid and the damage that could occur quickly. I guess those fears are not founded. Now you have got me thinking......

I am, by far, NOT an expert about the Liquid Lubes only a very happy consumer but I have to wonder why the Interstate Trucking industry went to the oil-bath system a number of years ago and never looked back!

Gots' to wonder!!!!!!!!!

In the new Cabelas catalog, they advertise an oilbath system. How does this compare with Ligua-Lube. Anybody know?

I hate to admit it, buy the safety wire on the Ranger trailer was pulled and with my Ford turbo diesel I did not notice the wheel smoking until it was red hot. That is what took the seal out. I have had no other problems with the trailer on any of my two previous Rangers which I put about 50,000 miles on since 1999. I am looking forward to my new one in April. Bright yellow! Look out!

WOW! That must have really bummed you out to say nothing of screwing up the psychic for fishing the tourney! Good thing the tire didn't catch fire and burn the whole rig down!
