i have a bunch of nice ice rods that i bought on the internet that have missing or broken tips. i have looked all over the internet for tips or tops that are small enough and can not find anything but fly rod tips which i don't want to use. i tried to register on a popular rod building forum but it won't let me for some reason. so have any of you had any experince in this area. most of the rods are UL to ML so the tips are very small guessing around 2.0 to 3.0. thanks Jason

Try going to www.jannsnetcraft.com (http://www.jannsnetcraft.com). They sell parts to build rods.

1-5,
You may or may not want a small tip for ice fishing. Although the small tip may look OK, you will notice the smaller tip will freeze up much faster than a larger one, if fishing outside the tent. If you really want a small tip, a variety of available tips will work. You will have to catch a ton of fish before the chrome tips, such as used on fly rods, start to groove.

Rod tips are measured with 2 numbers. The first number is ring size. The second is tube size.
Tube sizes are in 64th's of an inch. Measure your rod blank with a caliper and you can get the diameter.
TFST6-5.5 is a model of tip with a #6 ring and 5.5/64th diameter tube.
I'd try Bingham Enterprises...they used to carry a bunch of ice guides and tops.
