speedometer on dash not working. Thought there was a hole or something on the motor that needs to be cleared or blown with air. trying to figure out which hole. ...

On my 04 HPDI the hole is on the leading edge of the lower unit, about half way between the nose cone of the gear case and the anti-ventilation plate. The hole is small but you can feel it if you by running your fingers along the leading edge. If memory serves, I carefully used a 1/16" drill bit by hand to unstop mine. Had a small piece of wood in it.
