I was just looking in the new Minnesota fishing regulations and I noticed that the walleye season will end earlier next year on the Rainy river. It sais it closed to walleye fishing on Feb. 28 2003. I didnt see that in any newspapers. Has anyone seen anything on this or did the DNR just slip this one in quietly?

Feb 28 is when the limit drops to 2 from 6 with none to be taken over 19.5", the way this river get's pounded every spring by the masses it would be great if they shut it down for the spawn.

Shut-up guest. We have gone over and over this on this thread. I have been fishing the Rainy in Spring for years, and have yet to see one walleye floating belly-up after being released. If you don't like to play bumper-boats stay home.
Very poor attitude! Everyone has a right to their opinion......whether you like it or not.
