battery problem

I hooked up my trolling batteries this weekend to top them off before installation in the boat. One of the batteries got extremely hot to the touch after all night on the charger. I am using an Nautilus Gold charger which prevents overcharging. The batteries are from Batteries Plus and have not had a problem before. The batteries are 11 months old. Any ideas before I haul this one back to their counter?

Get the batery load tested, it probably has a shorted cell. Out of all the batteries they make, they are bound to make a bad one. It sound like you have one unless your battry charger is bad also.
