Howdy,

I have two questions about my Humminbird electronics and my radio and was hoping someone could answer them.

1) Does it matter which slot you put a Navionics chip into in-order to get the unit to read it? Yesterday it only wanted to read the chip if I put it in the left slot, not the right slot. Is this the case with all units? Does the right slot only read when another chip is in the left slot or do you have to manually tell the unit which slot to read?

2) My 255s VHF radio works but does not recognize its position by GPS. I looked at all the wiring and the two GPS wires are hooked up to the GPS receiver. None of the other wires from the radio harness are being used. Is there some trick that I need to do to get the radio to automatically display it's GPS location?

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Yes left slot 1st.

Did you turn NMEA "On"

Howdy,

No, I did not. What is NMEA? I have not had the time to read all the manuals on the sonar and the radio but had vacation scheduled and a commitment to be on the water with a friend I was vacationing with and was working on the fly.

Thanks,

Ruddiger

You can go into the menu and turn the nema output on. The diagram should be in the manual. If can not figure it out let me know and I will send you a diagram. My email address is jwsmith@johnsonoutdoors.com.
