I was just wondering is taking powerbait out of the bags and putting them in a box(plano 3700) will effect their scent.

Thanks.

Power baits should not be removed from package until ready for use. After opened reseal in original package. Good storage for these and other plastics are offered by BassPro and Cabelos. They lose thier scent quickly when stored in non sealble boxes.

Interestingly enough, the chemist from Berkley told me that the smell you smell is not at all what the fish smells. You smell an air soluable smell. He said you could leave the bait sit out in the open air and not affect the smell that transmits in the water. So I guess the answer is, store them anywhere you want - although I like the idea from the previous post and put them in a seperate 360 type box.

Interesting question. I have always thrown out really old powerbaits that have been opened for a long time and have lost their smell (to me). According to Keith, I have been wasting money. What I have often done is stick the older ones in a new package that was recently opened, hoping they would "soak up" some of the magic juice and rejuvenate them. I won't throw the old ones out any more!

I was on a recent trip a couple of weeks ago and fished with some
2-3 year old power grubs. My partner started with a non-scented plastic of different brand. After watching a few fish being caught he switched to one of my Berkley Power Baits and had fish on as well. My feelings are that the scented Berkley bait was a key that day to getting bites. Also the fact that the baits are at least a couple of years old and still must be holding good scent qualities.
In addition I'd like to ask anyone who might know or can provide any help. I can not find the "Motor Oil body/Chartruese tail combination 3" grubs any more. Did they quit making this color combo? I can still find the Motor Oil/Flo.Red color but have just had better results with the Chartruese tail. Anyone know where some are?? Thanks, RJ in Montana....

i am not sure about the answer to your question, but keep in mind; when using power bait - do not pick your nose!!! LOL

Or at least store them in an unsealable container if you need to pick! And fresh in the bags if you do not need to? Or can resist the urge???? :+ Whew. Guaranteed to break the "pick" add the Berkley bttle scents to the bag!
