I am considering between the Dominator and the Trophy. I know most of the differences in features and options, etc, but what I'm interested to learn is what are the differences in things like handling, fishability based on boat depth and all that. I find more of an available selection of Trophies than Dominators, but kind of lean towards the Dominator. Does anyone who has an '08 or newer Dom have any issues with the amount of storage? What about rod storage in the Trophy? Any opinions or experiences are very appreciated.

If you can afford it, I would get the Trophy.

The problem I noticed with them was there is hardly any room to mount a kicker motor. You almost have to add a plate to the stern. Not too bright in the engineering department for boat to be used for big water trolling in decent weather.

Why do you recommend the Trophy?

Only because it is bit bigger.

Of all the Alumacraft boats I like the Dominator best because it is big enough for bigger water on decent days, and small enough that you can put it in on smaller bodies of water too. I also like the gunnels for rigging the boat up right. If I could though because of my salmon fishing I would have the Trophy. But then you are getting into 150-200 hp motors and I don't need all that........nor can I afford it.

the Trophy and the Dominator share the same hull, so handling charastics will be identical. the freeboard height is a few inches taller on the Trophy which will give it a little more interior depth. otherwise make your selection based on the interior design that will best fit the way you will be using the boat. make your pick and enjoy the boat as soon as possible, nothing more fun then a new boat....
