My 9.9 kicker 2003 has a problem. The release lever on the starboard side of the motor broke. what happened is the bolt/pin that fits in the slot of the release lever broke and part of the pin is still in the hole where it goes into the starboard side of the motor. I assume this needs to be drilled out and tapped for threads and then a new pin/bolt threaded in. It currently does not look like it is threaded. I think what happened is when the motor is in the up position and I am running that the bouncing of waves etc. that it put to much stress on the pin and broke it. What to do in the future for this not to happen?
