Howdy,
I have two 997 SI units, bow and console. The bow unit gives much stronger readings (mounted on the trolling motor) than the console unit. The console unit is rigged with two transducers, the side-finding one rigged on the outside of my Ranger, and the glassed in one for reading down at high speeds.
In order to get the console one to read ALMOST as well as the bow I have to turn the sensitivity WAY up. Both units are otherwise set to factory default settings. Is this normal? Is there something that I am missing? Both units do it even if I switch out their locations. How can I get the console unit to read as good as the bow unit?
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Ruddiger
