Anyone know which boat ramps are open near Mobridge? On the SD Game & Fish site, they list the ramp on the west side (Standing Rock tribal ramp) as closed? I see that Indian Creek is open, but we are staying west of town and would prefer not to drive out to Indian Creek.
Thanks

Both the low water tribal (the most used ramp the past few years) and the Grand River ramp should be useable. I haven't been up since the ice went off but would guess the old Jed's Landing ramp right by the Bay Resort should be close as well.

As far as I know, the GF&P doesn't own anything west river in Mobridge any more. I think that happened around 2002? I can't remember the year for sure, though. I grew up in Mobridge and it was always GF&P when we fished from that ramp. I've heard those west ramps aren't in as good of shape any more, but I haven't put a boat in there since about 2002 and most of them have been dry for a few years.
Glad to hear the water is up, but it will make fishing interesting....

Correct, Jed's, the new low water, and the Grand River ramps are all controlled by the tribe. The Corp gave the campground and ramps to the tribe. Nothing on the west side is Corp or GFP any more. The ramps aren't in bad shape, pretty much the same as they were. Docks are a little rough, but they are plenty useable.

Do you need a tribal permit to use these ramps?

The low water required a permit, and if the Jed's ramp is good I would guess it would too. You get permits at The Bay, $5 I think. But if you buy anything there, just ask for a permit and you get it with the purchase. As far as the Grand River ramp I don't know if they will charge a fee or not.
