Hey Shellback, I noticed on your signature that you have VF-74 CVA 59,
I think my brother was in that squadron about 10-15 years ago. Were you on the USS Forrestal?

Yea, CVA-59 was the number of the Forrestal when I was aboard, the letters had changed in recent years. I was with VF-74 and Forrestal in 66,67&68. Was on her in 67 when we had the fire off Viet Nam, Your brother should know all about that if served on Forrestal. Shellback

I happened to be nearby on the Intrepid that sad day in '67. My buddy who I enlisted with was trapped below decks for a couple of days before they got him out. I still think about that to this day.

I bet that was one heck of an experience being out there when the fire took place. My brother and I have watched some shows on the History channel detailing the fire. He also told me he could see where they had dones some repairs in his barracks. I'm glad you came out of it ok.
