I have a Minn Kota Endura 50 pound thrust electric motor. What brand of battery and what series would I use if I just use it exclusively for the electric motor?
Any 12V deep cycle battery will work. Depends on how much your willing to spend for reserve hours and advanced battery technology. A regular Type 27 lead acid battery with maybe 160 reserve will cost the least because it's the most popular size. Your almost better off buying a lesser expensive battery so you can afford to buy a good quality, 3 stage charger. Otherwise any battery you buy will not work well for very long.
Hey lakeboy.. I use a Motomaster Nautilus Gold Deep Cycle battery
650 marine cranking amps...130 reserve capacity...I used to have the next size up but i didn't take care of it, it only lasted 5 years...
They are good batteries in my books, thats what i use for my trolling motor, I have two batteries and a good battery charger, Do battery maintence check to make sure the cells aren't empty, and charge them while they are sitting especially during winter... that way the batteries will last a long time...
