Hey out there,
I have a Humminbird 787C2i with the dual beam transducer. I see I can get a Quadrabeam and/or a Wideside transducer for this unit. Any experience with either of these here?
Thanks,
Lloyd

I have both. The wideside is better 0-30 feet the Quadrabeam better for deeper water.

How easy is it to discern fish from vegetation etc. with the wideside when trolling near a weedline? How far out are you seeing fish?
Thanks

I can't give you a good experienced answer. I don't troll and the lake I fish has very few places with weeds. I can tell you how it performs near brushpiles and Christmas trees that have been submerged. In those cases it is difficult to identify fish in brush. On the outside of the brush it does okay.
Note that both the wideside and quadrabeam have a weakness. My experience is that if the boat is moving using the big motor (Honda 90hp 1000 rpm) it does not show fish well. If I'm using the electric trolling motor (much slower) they work fine.
