what do you prefer?

medium or medium light rods for casting or drifting for walleyes. i have both, and lean towards the medium more often.

Depends on the rod. As a general rule I like a little stiffer rod for casting and jigging (usually medium). I like a little longer and softer rod for rigging and usually choose medium - medium light. Like I said though it depends on the rod. I´ve seen some mediums that were more a medium light and vice-versa.

sorry dirt, i should have said. i use st. croix premiers and an avid. you are right about different rods. i have a buddy who uses berkley rods and they seem a lot stiffer than mine, in each rod strength.
