if you are using internet explorer go to the microsoft website and download all the updates for your browser, while there download all the updates for windows. maybe this will help... :)

Maybe someone can help me with this. I too got a new computer a few months ago. My problem is here on Walleye Central. I know this is going to sound to stupid - but here goes. When I login - my password fills in automatically - and I don't want it to. Also, I know(thought)I had more information in my profile and tried to edit it that and my preferences and I keep getting -Script Error- Permission Denied. I contacted Scott here at WC at he advise me to check that I am allowing cookies and that my security is set at medium. I did that and everthing looks OK. I think.:(

Can anyone help?

Thanks. Vickie

on the password autocomplete thing try this... goto tools/internet options/content and click on autocomplete. uncheck all the boxes and clear all the forms and passwords.

see if that does it.

I did that - then logged off here and re-logged on but it still fills in. I had tried the clear forms and clear password before - but I left one of the boxes checked. I cleared that now but still the same.
Do I need to restart the computer to get the change? I told you, this sounds so stupid. It must be something really easy and I just can't find it.

Thank you so much to anyone who can help.

you should not have to restart, I'll think about this one and if I come up with anything I'll let you know. :)

You could try finding your cookie for walleyecentral and deleting it
Its in your tools/internet options are for Internet explorer

Vickie:

Click on the "user menu" at the top of the topics page then click on
"edit your preference" then scrolldown and check "NO" next to "auto login on return" I think this will take care of your problem.

Sorry it's been so long for me to respond. I've been fishing. Ice fishing --- but fishing is fishing. Anyway, I looked at my preference and I've already checked NO to auto login. But I wouldn't be able to change it anyway because I just get "permission denied". I use MSN and couldn't get signed it for some reason early tonite so I went to Internet Explorer to get to Walleye Central. When I logged in there my password was not stored - so I thought maybe I could edit my profle and preference but still I got the -error message-. Is there something with MSN I need to change?

Thanks again.

Vickie,

If you are running IE6.0 you can go to the tools button, Internet options, and then under temporary settings there is a box for delete cookies. Let me know if this doesnt work and also what release of IE you are running and also what release of OS you have then I can help. If you are under XP there is local profile settings that could be specific to which user you are logged on.

Thanks so much.

Vickie,
If you have XP try the following. Start, settings, control panel, user accounts, click on your user account, under related tasks click on 'Manage My Network Passwords'. There you will likely find the password stored. If you are not running XP then it's likely that you will have to click 'Start, Find, then type in *.pwl, insure it says drive C:, and then click 'Start' or 'Search'. (Been a while, can't remember exact button) It will come up with a list of user names with the .pwl. Find the one with your account name and click it then click rename. Rename it to a new name such as vickies old.pwl. Then restart the PC. After you log on you should no longer have your password for walleyecentral (or any other website) stored on your pc.

After doing this, if prompted, choose do not remember my password for this site. That's all you should have to do.
