I am interested in getting a big jon planer mast for my boat. I have a Ranger 681 and was wondering if they make a planer board mast that will mount into my seat base? I have the springfield spring lock base. If not what are some other options. Not wanting to have to drill any new whole if possible. Have already purchased the off shore inline board but I am thinking it might be nicer to have the mast set up. Thoughts??

I have seen them at fit in a wedge style seat base. I would want it mounted higher then on the floor though. You want the mast as high as possible.

I do have a complete setup on sale on the swap board but it has a 4 bolt hole square flange base. I have seen guys u bolt a board across the front rails and bolt them to that, it get the mast up as high as possible and can be completely removed when not needed

I replied to your post on the swap board and am interested. So if it is a 5' mast how high off the floor of the boat would you want to mount it?? I don't have any rails in the front of my boat so I am not sure how I could get it mounted without putting it on the floor.

the 5 ft mast is about as tall as they get. It should work fine, its just good to get it as high as possible so the releases slide down the line easily. My mast has 300lb powerpro on it for tow line, so its more slippery than those that use standard issue planer board towline so that would help also
