I am going up to Tobin Lake this weekend does anyone have a report on the fishing recently? What's working etc.
Where are you coming from?
I will be up there as well this weekend, looks like some nice weather coming finally.
Are you fishing for eyes on the lake portion or the river portion? I fished on the river portion a couple weekends ago, the small walleye were very active on pretty much everything from all reports. Didnt catch anything over 55cm. Minnows were the ticket. Have heard the same thing about the lake section, that minnows were workng better than leeches. Have seen a pic of a 12.5 caught in the lake already

We are coming from Calgary and will mostly be fishing the river portion based on what we have been told, this is the first tinme going to Tobin so any info you have will help.
OK, you'll want to try around the "mouth" where the river starts to get wider, transition to the lake section. And there are popular stretches including White Rock, Eagles nest, grassy island, etc. Ask at Twin marine as well, the store right at the launch at the regional park. Where are you staying?
Do a search on this site, lots of good info has been posted previously
Can also check out fishingsaskatchewan.ca lots of info posted over there as well if you do a search
Hope that helps a bit
