View Full Version : New Hummingbird Legend 3000; Any Tips.
At last, I made the decision and went with the legend 3000. Didn't get to use it yet, still rigging my new boat but looking for any advice or tips when I do.
Thanks.

You'll like this unit. I have the Zercom LPG 2000 which was replaced by the Legend 3000 and I like it. Just make sure you set the transducer right. I personally don't like the transducer design, I prefer the Lowrance style design. Good Luck.

Mille Lacs Guy,
What tips do you have for setting up the transducer? I just installed my new LPG2000 the other day & have not tried it yet.
Thanks.........Walter

I would first follow the directions in the owners manual and try it. If it works thats good.
One mine at first I would lose the reading just before going on plane. What I did to fix this was to change the angle of the transducer until I kept the bottom signal at all times. You may have to play around with it a little bit.
My unit is the Zercom LPG 2000 and I got it when it first came out and I know there were a lot of guys that had the same problem as I mentioned above. There was some talk that Zercom (humminbird) was going to change the design of either the transducer or the bracket that the transducer is mounted on. I don't know if they have done this.

I believe the Hummingbird has more power than Zercom it replaced,..I'm not sure how that translates into as better unit,..
