Have an 1800 Lund Pro V . Am wondering about traveling with the mooring cover on. It has the u-shaped clips on the boat and you pull down the elastic band to them all the way around. I know it's been said not to do it becuse of paint concerns but would like to know if there are guys doing it with no problems or maybe with some adjustments. Thanks

I have a 1660 Pro-V and have travled 1000's of miles (7 years)with mine. The first time I went on a trip the cover damaged my seats. It wore through on the edges of the seat were they were in contact with the cover. I put towles over the seats now and have had no problem. In regards to the paint, it is showing signs of wear. I really don't have a problem with it. I fish the Mississippi River and have gone where pretty boats don't go. I am the one in the unmarked lund with a live well full of fish.

I have the same set up on my 1900 pro-v and have mixed emotions about the u shaped clips and the cover. This is a mooring cover not a travel cover. With the clips it can be used for a mooring cover when the boat is either on the trailer or in the water. This is an advantage over the old trailer tie down type. The other side of this method is will we have problems with those u-shaped hooks catching unattended fishing lines or when landing wild fish near the boat. The first time this happens to me, mine are coming off. As for traveling with this cover I am not going to do it as I like to keep things nice on my boat. I had a snap down bow cover made and will travel with this on and the back open. When I stop for the night I throw the mooring cover over everything. The only travel cover I have ever had that worked like it should was a custom made snap down that covered the windshield and stopped at the splash well.

Good catching,
Kevin
