These 2 rods are the rods everyone else is trying to copy. Even if you have no intention of purchasing a Loomis you owe it to yourself to get your hands on them. The 8400 is a takeoff of a Popping rod. Some of the PWT pros like the PR 842 better because it will handle heavier 3 ways or bottom bouncers. You can find an on line catalog at gloomis.com . Gander Mountain had their rods an sale last week and in the Pro-Select Which has IM8 graphite, Fugi guides, and premium cork handle in 7 ft. ML for 49.00. I bought one and used it this past weekend for rigging and it worked well. Put it next to my 6'6" GL3 and they look the same. Good Luck
